Walgreens' TRICARE Dispute Clarified
Walgreen Co.'s dispute with a TRICARE contractor won't stop customers from receiving their prescriptions drugs, Defense Department officials said Thursday.
Walgreens and Express Scripts Inc., the contractor operating TRICARE's pharmacy program, broke off negotiations over reimbursement rates, according to the Marine Corps Times.

Walgreens' sent letters to its customers outlining the dispute and has waged an advertising campaign that may have scared some, said Navy Rear Adm. Christine Hunter, deputy director of the TRICARE Management Agency, in a Department of Defense press release.
Patients who get their medicines from the pharmacy chain may want to switch prescriptions to another provider if that becomes necessary. There are 56,000 other pharmacies in the TRICARE network, said Hunter.

But the two companies had a similar dispute three years ago and reached agreement before a deadline, the department said. Patients would have until the end of the year to consider their options.
Career & Education Expo Set for Thursday
Over 100 local and national employers and education institutions are expected at the fall career/education exposition Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Camp Pendleton.

Tattoo Artists Exhibit Their Fine Art
New artwork by tattoo artists will be displayed in an starting Saturday and running to Sept. 25 at the .
Creations of Chris Winn, Sam Phillips, Sarah Spinks, Hunter Feirich, Rob Benavides, Ben Grillo, Jackie Dunn Smith, Micah Caudle, Dominic Vasquez, and Luke Wessman will be featured in the exhibit, Inspired by Ink.
Curated by Chris Winn of Winn Tattoos, the exhibit includes rarely seen artwork by the tattoo artists, who when they are not working on a human canvas, also paint, draw and work with other art media.
A runway show, Masterworks of Body Art Vol. 3, is also scheduled for Sept. 24. It will feature a live tattoo demonstration by Sam Phillips of American Tattoo. For more information and ticket details, visit the museum website.
Armed Conflict: MMA Cage Fights Sept. 24
Over 20 mixed martial arts cage fights are on the card at the Gladiator Challenge event Saturday, Sept. 24.
The fights include the Gladiator Challenge Superfight World Championship bout between Jimmy Stomo and Sean "The Destroyer" Loeffler.
Tickets are available at ITT offices or online at gladiatorchallenge.com. Doors open at 5 p.m. and fights get under way at 7 p.m. in the Pacific Views South Mesa Club.

Upcoming: San Francisco Fleet Week
Six Navy ships from the U.S. 3rd Fleet will be participating in San Francisco Fleet Week, Oct. 6-11.
The six include the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson and the guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam.
Fleet Week showcases Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard air and sea skills and assets, highlighted by air shows, a parade of ships and ship tours.
The Navy Blue Angels kick off the events with a maneuvers practice on Oct. 6 and entertain the public with aerial displays on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8. A Marine Corps Osprey will also perform in the air show.
