Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks Lanes On SR-78 In North County

VISTA, CA — A multi-vehicle collision Thursday blocked multiple lanes on state Route 78 in the Vista area, authorities said.

The crash was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. on eastbound SR-78, just west of Vista Village Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic was being diverted at Melrose Drive.

By 8:20 a.m., the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes were reopened, according to officials.

Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Emergency crews were on scene working to clear the roadway.
