OCEANSIDE, CA — Families looking for activities over Memorial Day weekend can head to a mermaid-and-pirate-themed pool party Saturday at the William A. Wagner Aquatic Center in Oceanside.
The Mermaid Pirate Pool Party will feature mermaids, pirates, a treasure hunt, water games and other activities. Organizers encouraged attendees to come dressed as pirates or mermaids.
Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, though parents can complete a waiver allowing children ages 12 to 16 to use the facility without an adult present. A valid ticket is required for parents or guardians.
Swim tests will be required for use of the diving boards, and only Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices will be allowed.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the aquatic center at 3425 Hero Drive. Tickets are $7 per person. Admission is free for children 3 and younger.
Organizers said parking will be limited and encouraged attendees to use alternate transportation or drop-off and pickup options.
