CMAP PENDLETON, CA — Crews are battling a vegetation fire Tuesday within a training area on Camp Pendleton.
The fire sparked in the Zulu Training Area of the military base, according to Camp Pendleton.
Camp Pendleton officials said smoke may be visible to residents on the base, but there is no threat to personnel or infrastructure. No evacuations have been ordered.
North County Fire Protection District said the fire is burning near Range 409A on the base. Although smoke may be visible in surrounding communities, the district said there is no threat to its service area.
