Search Continues For Missing Oceanside Woman After Vehicle Found At Palomar Mountain

Investigators determined her last known location was Harrah's Resort in Valley Center.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Authorities resumed their search Monday at a Palomar Mountain State Park pond for an Oceanside woman who has been missing for a week.

Angelica Brophy was reported missing to the Oceanside Police Department at about 9:30 p.m. July 6. Investigators determined her last known location was Harrah's Resort in Valley Center around 3:30 p.m. that day.

Detectives attempted to track Brophy's cell phone through her wireless carrier, but the effort did not provide any information because the phone was either turned off or its battery had died, police said.

Brophy's vehicle was found Thursday, July 9, in the parking lot of Palomar Mountain State Park, but she was not with the vehicle. California State Parks officers, with assistance from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team, searched the area Thursday through Saturday without finding Brophy.

On Sunday, a California State Parks dive team searched a pond within the park. The underwater search was unsuccessful but resumed Monday with assistance from San Diego Harbor Police Department divers.

Brophy's age was not immediately available.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to contact Oceanside police Detective Ryan Malone at 760-435-4537 or the department's anonymous tip line at 760-435-4730.
