OCEANSIDE, CA — Search operations for a missing Oceanside woman have been suspended in Palomar Mountain State Park, though police said the investigation remains active.

Angelica Brophy, 44, was last seen around 3:30 p.m. July 6 at Harrah's Resort in Valley Center and was reported missing that night. Days later, the investigation shifted to Palomar Mountain State Park after her unoccupied vehicle was found July 9 in the parking lot of the state park.

The Oceanside Police Department said multiple coordinated searches were conducted in the park with assistance from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team, California State Parks, the U.S. Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue Team, and other agencies.

K-9 teams from the San Diego Police Department, the Department of Homeland Security and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service also assisted in the searches. Detectives conducted three additional searches based on potential leads, but Brophy has not been found, police said.

"I want to emphasize that there is still no evidence of foul play in this case," Chief Taurino Valdovinos said in a statement. "However, we will continue to work closely with the Brophy family to locate Angelica."

Anyone with information about Brophy's disappearance was asked to contact Oceanside police Detective Ryan Malone at 760-435-4537 or the department's anonymous tip line at 760-435-4730.
