OCEANSIDE, CA — A garage fire displaced a family after flames damaged a home Tuesday in Oceanside, officials said.
The fire was reported around 10 a.m. at a single-family home in the 4900 block of Calle Sobrado, according to the Oceanside Fire Department. Firefighters arrived five minutes later to find the garage fully involved.
Crews quickly contained the fire to the garage, preventing it from spreading into the home's living areas or nearby properties, according to the department.
The family safely evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was assisting the family with temporary housing and other support services.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
