OCEANSIDE, CA — The North County Transit District will suspend all coastal rail service later this month for routine railroad maintenance and infrastructure work.
The suspension is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12-13. Regular service is expected to resume Monday, Sept. 14.
Weekend closures are scheduled throughout the year to give crews time to safely perform maintenance and work on major railroad construction projects.
No passenger or freight trains will operate during the closure, but test trains, construction vehicles and equipment may be active along the rail corridor. Residents and others near the tracks are urged to remain alert and cross only at designated railroad crossings.
