VISTA, CA — A Vista man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a man found with traumatic injuries last week, authorities said.
Jonathan William Badillo, 18, was arrested Friday evening in the 3800 block of Helix Street in Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail.
Deputies found the victim around 3:15 a.m. Sept. 30 after responding to a report of an injured person in the 1400 block of East Vista Way in Vista. Deputies and paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene.
The victim's identity has not been released pending family notification. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives continued to investigate the circumstances and motive in the killing. Badillo was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at North County Superior Court.
