Arrest Made In Hit-And-Run That Killed Bicyclist In Oceanside
Christian Howard, 26, of Riverside was charged on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death, police said.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that killed a woman in March in Oceanside.
Tracey Gross was struck by a vehicle around 11:35 p.m. March 17 near the intersection of state Route 76 and Singh Way, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
Gross was flown to a local trauma center in critical condition, police said. A bicycle with major damage was found about 2 miles down the road, near the intersection of SR-76 and College Boulevard.

In an update Friday, Oceanside police spokesman Tom Bussey said Gross died the following day.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and remained at large until Friday, Bussey said. Christian Howard, a 26-year-old Riverside resident, was arrested around 9 a.m. Friday at his job in Corona. He was charged on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death.
