Authorities ID Man Fatally Shot In Head In Oceanside

The shot went through a bedroom window at an apartment complex, police said.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Authorities have publicly identified a man who was fatally shot in an apartment in Oceanside.

Alex Hamilton, 26, was shot in the head around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 1800 Block of College Boulevard, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

The shot went through a bedroom window at the apartment complex, police spokesman Tom Bussey said. Several other occupants of the apartment fled outside following the shooting, while two hid in a bathroom until officers arrived.

Hamilton was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he died, Lt. Bill Weese said.

"This case remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation," he said.
