Bicyclist Struck By SUV, Seriously Injured In Oceanside
Officers found the bicyclist unresponsive and lying in the westbound lanes of SR-76 in the intersection, police Sgt. Rick Davis said.
OCEANSIDE, CA — A bicyclist was severely injured Wednesday afternoon when he ran a red light at an intersection and was struck by an SUV, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on state Route 76 at Old Grove in Oceanside. Police officers found the bicyclist unresponsive and lying in the westbound lanes of SR-76 in the intersection, police Sgt. Rick Davis said.
Medics took the man, who suffered a serious head injury, to the hospital, Davis said. His name and age were not released, and his condition was unavailable.

Based on witness statements and physical evidence at the scene, Davis said the bicyclist ran a red light and collided with the SUV. The driver of the SUV was uninjured.
