Biden Trans Am Project Update: Over $7000 Raised so Far
Update to story from over the weekend- Over $7000 dollars has been raised so far in the internet project to make a satirical story from the Onion a reality.

A campaign to make one of the Internet's most famous political memes a reality plowed ahead over the weekend. With now almost 500 contributors having given a total of more than $7000, the “Give Joe the Bird” campaign to buy Vice President Joe Biden a 1981 Pontiac Firebird TransAm is showing no sign of slowing down.
The group behind the campaign is now offering t-shirts to those who donate $25 or more, and has begun using a hashtag - #GiveJoeTheBird – to unify its campaign on Twitter.
Why are people doing this? The website offers this succinct explanation: “We're trying to make a silly meme a reality while helping some awesome causes.”
