Eat Fat To Get Rid of Fat

Omega 3 and 6 oils are necessary for your body to function properly and for you to get rid of fat.

Every cell in your body is made up from fat. In fact, your brain is made up of 60% of fat. For your body to function properly and for you to get rid of fat cells your body loosens up during a workout, you actually must consume it. So with that stated I have to ask, why does society make such hype that no fat is good for achieving weight loss goals; i.e.: non-fat/fat free popcorn, coffee, cookies, yogurt, etc.?

When “fat free” labels are used they are actually targeting the bad fat you need to avoid; saturated fats. Unfortunately this is not stated and fat in general gets a bad wrap. Of course the fat you need to avoid should be apparent; greasy foods, fast foods, regular cooking oils, butter, dairy products, and even most cuts of red meat.

The alternative is essential fatty acids/oils, the fat our body needs to function properly.  Omega 3 & 6 are the oils we need for our body to actually be able to excrete fat from our body through our digestive system. These oils are found in olive oil, several nuts, vegetables, beans, seafood, vitamins, etc.

If you eliminate fat completely from your diet your lipid membrane around your cells in your body start to break down; which is not good. If you are trying to lose weight this is counter productive to all the hard work you are putting in physically. Your body will actually start storing fat when this happens too.

Consuming more fish, eggs, dark green vegetables, walnuts, avocados, (just to list a few foods) and several other foods high is Omega 3 and 6’s are necessary for vital functions and maximum weight loss.

By consuming more of these types of foods it not only allows your body to rid itself of its fat cells, but it also increases your energy levels, your stamina and decreases your recovery time.

One of the most highly effective fatty oils I have found that works for best for me to attain my fitness goals is consuming Pure Virgin Coconut Oil. I consume about 1 tsp. before every meal to help my body process the food I eat properly and to help me maintain my weight. I not only eat this before meals, but I consume it whenever I start feeling a little sluggish at work. It immediately boosts my energy and focus when I take about 1 tablespoon full.

To sum it up, what ever your goals are, ranging from weight loss, more energy or just to improve your health, the answer is you must consume more of the right fatty oils in your diet. It is as necessary as drinking water or breathing. I promise—you will thank yourself after feeling the results by not depriving your body from what it needs.

Below is short list of foods you should consume more of to increase your Omega intake:

  • flax oil and olive oil
  • pinto, kidney and mungo beans
  • kale, spinach, broccoli and seaweed
  • watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, and papaya
  • salmon, tuna, halibut and anchovies
