Had a Blast at the San Diego Fair!

Had a wonderful time at the fair! Definitely worth the money! Also free admission to San Diego museums now through Sept. 5.

I had a wonderful time at the San Diego fair this weekend. My husband and I got tickets from Albertson's for $11 so the price wasn't too bad. Food, however, was really expensive. I figured it would be, and most of our money went to that. We spent about $25 on ride tickets, which was only enough for three rides. We also played a few of those games, and, of course, we lost. We did get a little stuffed animal prize for trying, though! Overall, we spent about $100 which isn't too bad for two people. It was definitely worth the money because we had a wonderful time. If you're going with a bigger family, I suggest buying the packages they offer online from the fair or from Camp Pendleton's ITT.

The packages usually include rides and admission.  If you plan on going soon, make sure you save the card they hand you when you walk in. When you leave, use it at the kiosk near the exit and you will get a coupon for your next visit where you only have to pay $2 to get in. It's a pretty good deal if you plan on returning!

All right, enough about the fair. I'm sure you all know it's a fun time! There are a few more events going on for in June, all of which are free.

On June 23 you will have a chance to meet Padres catcher Nick Hundley at the
Country Store in Mainside from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The first 400 people also will be able to enjoy free lunch! Who doesn't love free food!? For more information on this event, please call 760-725-6233, ext. 122.

Two things I love about summer; swimming at night and cookouts! Beginning June 23 Summer Nights Family Movies begins at the 13 Area Pool. There will be open swim in the moonlight and BBQ grills will be available for families who want to cook up some food. Summer Nights will take place on the following Thursdays from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m.: June 23 and 30, July 7, 14, 21 and 28, and Aug. 4 and 18. I'm not quite sure though if they play movies inside or outside. I guess you'll have to go and see!

I think the San Diego Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Man, the Natural History Museum, and the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center sound the most interesting.
