Happy Independence Day!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend. There will be lots of BBQs and fireworks going on all around. I hope many of you get a chance to head on over to The Ken Grody 4th of July Beach Bash on Monday. I'm going this year; unfortunately my husband got stuck with duty, poor guy. Maybe I'll bring him a hotdog later on.

The Ken Grody 4th July Beach Bash

It's going to be an amazing time at the beach bash this year. There will be live bands, kids' activities, volleyball tournaments, prizes ($2,000 grand prize and $500 prizes throughout the day), food, beer and a fireworks display. They also will be showing a tribute to the heroes video in honor of the military members who serve for our country and protect our freedom.

9 p.m. Fireworks Display

9:30 p.m. DJ After Party

11 p.m. After Party Ends

12 p.m. Shuttle Service Ends

I recommend getting there early and setting up because it can get packed fast. This is a free event for all military members, so don't forget your military ID. For more information regarding directions, shuttle services, etc. check out the MCCSCP Beach Bash website. Have fun!

Knott's Soak City

If you haven't made any other plans this weekend, Knott's Berry Farm and Soak City of San Diego and Orange County are offering FREE admission to active, retired and veteran military personal Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th. It is part of their Tribute to the Armed Forces program. Active and retired members of the military can purchase discounted admission tickets for immediate family members (max of 6). Get out of the house and enjoy the great summer weather we're having with your family. Don't forget your military ID. For more information check out Knott's Berry Farms website.

Sugar Ray Leonard Book Signing

More Summer Nights Family Movies

Enjoy the summer evenings at 13 Area Pool for open swim in the moonlight. BBQ grills will be available for families who wish to bring their own food.
Summer Nights will be held Thursdays from 6:45 to 9:30pm on the following dates: 
July 7, 14, 21, 28 and Aug. 4, 18
