If Elected, I Will Change City Council Spending Priorities

City Council shuts down San Luis Rey Resource center leaving under privileged children to fend for themselves.

In 2011, the Oceanside City Council decided to close the San Luis Rey Resource center, putting several people out of work and closing my martial arts studio. I taught under privileged children and adults for free every Tuesday and Thursday for over 30 years. The council used $100,000 of Oceanside's money to try and entice the San Diego Chargers to leave home for Oceanside.

It was a major folly and one we paid dearly for.

In the year since, I decided to run for city council because I think I can change the direction the council seems to be heading. That is, spending money we don't have to projects we don't need. I believe jobs should come first instead of finding low income housing. What's the point of low income housing if you can't find a job to pay the mortgage? I think our council needs to think with more common sense and we currently don have that luxury. I would like your vote this November 6th to try and change that attitude in the chambers.
