USAA: Signing Up for Savings!

Summer is here, and it's time to save! How to bundle your insurance/banking needs and save at the same time with a Military Friendly company.

INSURANCE

Boooring!! But something every family needs for a handful of different things. Car insurance, health insurance, renter's/homeowner's insurance, personal property insurance,  life insurance, how many different insurances can one family need? And all those separate bills coming in the mail, all those numbers to keep track of: excruciating! Well, today is the day that being a Camp Pendleton family lends us another advantage: USAA. Strictly for military members/veterans and their families, USAA offers competitive interest rates, tons of different insurance policies for different things, free banking with no monthly fees, and tons more!

When I first moved to Camp Pendleton with my husband and we were still driving our old Jeep, we still had our auto insurance through my mother-in-law back in Indiana. In the spring we bought our newer car, and we had to have full coverage before we drove off the lot. Well, our sales agent recommended USAA because he knew that they catered strictly with military, and boy am I glad he did! USAA has been our premiere insurance carrier for over a year now, and we have been nothing but happy. We've even referred friends of ours, single AND married Pendleton Marines and their families, and they all feel the same way. With so much to offer Pendleton families, USAA is the best way to bundle and save money on necessities such as auto/renters insurance while still getting great coverage.

Another extremely important necessity for any military family  is renter's or homeowner's insurance. Living on base at Camp Pendleton is amazing, but during the summer how many times can we look up and see smoke on the horizon? The brush fires on base are rarely cause for true concern to those living in base housing, but it's definitely better to be safe rather than sorry. There have been some close calls in the past, so having renter's insurance is a huge plus, especially if your things could be in danger of being lost.

Another good reason to have renter's insurance: moving damage!! As military families, we are bound to put a few moves under out belts while in the service. Whether TMO moves you and your family, or you rent a U-Haul and grab some of the guys to help you move, if that flat screen TV you're carrying falls and breaks in half you're out money unless it's insured! Or say, during the move, one of the guy's helping out slips on some water and breaks his ankle on your property. Renter's insurance is around for that kind of stuff, too. And the best part about USAA's renter's/homeowner's insurance policies: if you already have an auto insurance policy with them and you purchase a renter's/homeowner's policy, you get a 20%* discount on your existing auto policy! And with the great rates that USAA offers it's military members, you're only saving on more savings! To get a renter's/homeowner's insurance quote, or to sign up for a policy, click the link below.

Besides all the different kinds of coverage you can get with USAA, they also offer free banking, investment opportunities, and retirement planning. I do realize that there are places to go on base to get this kind of help, but after a short phone call with a USAA agent my husband and I- at the ripe young ages of 23 and 21- started our retirement plan with USAA last year. We are already on the right track to save a great amount for retirement, and with USAA's help it was the easiest thing to set up! They also offer a FREE checking account with no monthly fees, direct deposit, and awesome online bank access. And for those spouses who need to use Power of Attorney while your marine is deployed, USAA is nothing but compliant and helpful, unlike a few other institutions. They also offer auto loans with great interest rates if you're in the market for a new car.

Basically, USAA offers tons of different coverage at great prices and they are the easiest in the world to work with. And by purchasing multiple policies, you save money. And best of all, because they work strictly with military/vets only, after leaving the service any vet and their family is still able to keep their policy/policies with the company. So...why not? I personally work for an insurance company, and I know that these rates are extremely competetive, even for younger couples and newer cars. My husband and I's rates are especially good, and get better over time with no accidents, even with a husband with a lead foot and 5 tickets under his belt.

So, if you're looking for some new auto insurance, or some security for the summer brush fires we have on Camp Pendleton, I'd say go with USAA and save! After all, saving is what we're all about, right? The link below will take you to USAA.com, so register and get saving!
