Here are the top stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:

1. The Brother Benno Foundation has been serving people in need for over 30 years in Oceanside, but the businesses in the same industrial park say the nonprofit is a poor neighbor and are trying to get the city to revoke its conditional use permit (CUP). Brother Benno's can only operate in the business park if its operations aren't detrimental to the public or nearby properties. The nearby businesses started a petition claiming "they've been dealing with loitering, theft and substance abuse at the site, and that Brother Benno's is not living up to the conditions of the permit." Brother Benno's responded by closing earlier and hiring more security. (KPBS)
2. The musical farce "Lucky Stiff" opened at The Brooks Theatre last weekend to rave reviews. The popular production is the result of a unique teaming of the Oceanside Theatre Company and Scripps Ranch Theatre to share the costs and put on better shows than the smaller companies would be able to do on their own. This is the fourth show the two theaters have collaborated on since 2018. "Lucky Stiff" is at the Brooks Theatre through March 19, with weekend performances. Tickets at OceansideTheatre.org. 3. Get outside and enjoy the sunny spring weather in Oceanside today, because rain is forecast for tomorrow and Saturday. This will be the 10th atmospheric river-fueled storm of the year for the already drenched Golden State. While most of this new storm, known as the Pineapple Express, is expected to hit Northern California, we could get enough rain to cause flooding in areas. The rain isn't expected here until Friday afternoon but it will likely make for a nasty commute home, so why not get a jump on traffic and leave early! (Patch)
