Brush Fire Burns 50 Acres Along Highway 76 In North County

Personnel from several agencies are working to extinguish the flames.

PAUMA VALLEY, CA – A slow-moving brush fire burned dozens of acres Tuesday in San Diego's North County.

The blaze was first reported about 2:15 p.m. off state Route 76 in the Pauma Valley area, near Wilderness Gardens Park, according to Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol. Within three hours, the fire had scorched roughly 50 acres and was 10 percent contained.

The blaze, known as the Agua Fire, moved at a slow rate of speed through an average amount of brush, fire officials said. Personnel from several agencies worked to extinguish the flames. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
