Brush Fire Contained At Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, CA – Crews have fully contained a brush fire in the far northwestern reaches of Camp Pendleton, according to fire officials. The roughly half-acre blaze broke out alongside the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, just south of Cristianitos Road near San Clemente, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Crews from Camp Pendleton and Orange County Fire Authority fought the flames, which caused no structural damage or injuries but led to heavier-than-usual midday congestion along the freeway in the area.
