Brush Fire On Camp Pendleton; Smoke Visible In Nearby Communities
A roughly 25-acre blaze is burning in an open training area in the northwestern reaches of the military base, Camp Pendleton officials said.
CAMP PENDLETON, CA — Smoke will be visible Wednesday in parts of northern San Diego County due to a brush fire burning on Camp Pendleton, base officials advised.
The blaze has burned roughly 25 acres in an open training area in the northwestern reaches of the military base, officials said. Military and civilian crews were working to contain the flames, which posed no structural threats.
There is a 20-25 acre vegetation fire in the Romeo 2 Training Area of the base. CPFD is on scene alongside Orange County Fire and San Diego County Fire and currently working containment efforts.
