Brush Fire Sparks In Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA – Crews are fighting a small brush fire in Oceanside.
The blaze broke out Thursday afternoon in Loma Alta Creek near El Camino Real and Oceanside Boulevard, according to the city.

Fire officials are also monitoring the Lilac Fire on the west side of Interstate 15 on the south side of Highway 76.
Eastbound State Route 76 is closed from North Santa Fe to Interstate 15, according to the city. Westbound SR-76 remains open.

Traffic will be diverted to side streets, officials said. Residents of the Jeffries Ranch area will be allowed into their homes.
