You’ll then be guided to interpret these artists and create your own singular, spectacular work of art. We’ll help you express your unique style and ensure you have a blast doing it.</h5>

<p>Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, <i>The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee</i> takes us on a journey with an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents as they participate in the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.</p>

<h5>Join artist Aaron Kramer for a hands-on workshop exploring the playful mechanics of automata. These are simple machines that use movement to bring small sculptures to life. Inspired by the Aaron Kramer:&nbsp;Sense of Wonder exhibition, participants will learn how he transforms salvaged materials, mechanical parts, and curiosity into imaginative kinetic creations.</h5>
<h5>In this workshop, Kramer will guide you step by step in designing and building your own small automata machine using metal components and hand tools. As you bend, shape, and assemble the parts, you’ll discover how simple mechanical systems can create surprising movement and storytelling.</h5>
<h5>All materials are included in the workshop fee. This workshop is best suited for teens and adults, as it requires some dexterity and strength to use the metal-bending tools. Kramer will provide guidance and assistance throughout the process to ensure everyone can successfully complete their piece.</h5>

Coffee and Conversation With OMA Artist ALliance: June

<p>OTCYA is proud to announce the launch of Stage Explorers Camp, a two-week summer camp (June 15 - 26, 9:00 AM - 3:30 AM) for young artists (Ages 5 - 12) to explore the fundamentals of acting, storytelling, and stagecraft through games, activities, and guided scene work. With plenty of room for creativity and imagination, campers will learn teamwork, self-expression, and confidence while discovering the magic of live performance.</p>
<p>The camp culminates in a 60 minute youth showcase of Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Jr. on the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater stage, where family and friends are invited to see the campers shine in their very first production. No prior experience is necessary!</p>
<p>Extended care is available for an additional $50 per week. Drop-off is as early as 8 AM and pick-up is until 5 PM.</p>

Projects, subjects, and materials shift each week, so returning campers will enjoy fresh challenges. This allows returning campers to deepen their skills while creating entirely new artwork!</h5>

<h5><strong>WHAT TO EXPECT</strong></h5>
<h5>Campers will learn foundational art skills like drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, and mixed media while also building confidence, problem-solving skills, and creative independence. Activities include drawing, designing and building cardboard “automata" machines inspired by the  exhibition, creating custom-printed tote bags inspired by the <em></em> exhibition, plein air watercolor painting, beach sketching, and so much more!</h5>
<h5>Beyond art techniques, campers practice observation, creative thinking, collaboration, and expressing their ideas visually. OMA's galleries are our inspiration labs, and every project encourages experimentation and trying something new (there’s no “right way” here!)</h5>
<h5>Each day includes a walk to the Oceanside Public Library (OPL) where free lunch is provided by the <em></em>Lunch at the Library program if needed, otherwise kids can bring their lunch from home. OPL is our favorite neighbor and a great place to reset before heading back to the studio.</h5>

<h5>Inspired by world renowned artists, you will explore different media, techniques and subjects found in an artist’s studio. After a brief slide presentation for inspiration and context the session will continue with demonstrations.</h5>
<h4><em><strong>The Colors of Venice</strong></em></h4>
<h5>Monet was inspired to paint the reflective light off the water canals and architecture of Venice, Italy. Drawing inspiration from Monet's limited, vibrant color palette and thick brushstrokes, you will create energetic and fluid paintings that evoke visual poetry in this very special art workshop.</h5>
<h5>This full day workshop held from 10:00am–2:00pm is meant to get you in the art making groove and develop new approaches to seeing and creating artworks. Whether you have a lifetime practice or are new to expressing yourself, we exchange ideas and techniques in a supportive and challenging environment. Students of all levels are welcome to stretch their creative muscles and build community with us.</h5>
