Oceanside United Reformed Church 26th Annual Good Friday Service

The Oceanside United Reformed Church invites the community to its 26^th annual Good Friday service

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Oceanside United Reformed Church will host its annual Good Friday service on Friday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m., at the Army & Navy Academy Chapel, 2549 Ocean St., Carlsbad, 92008, located on the border of Oceanside and Carlsbad.

Good Friday is a contemplative service that weaves together readings from the last week of Jesus’ life in the New Testament Gospels with sung verses from the Old Testament Psalms. These all serve to proclaim God’s great love for the world in Jesus Christ, who took upon himself our sins.

“Good Friday and Easter invite us to slow down and hear the best news the world has ever received: Jesus Christ gave Himself for our sins and rose again to give new life to all who believe,” said Rev. Dr. Daniel R. Hyde, pastor of Oceanside United Reformed Church since 2000. “Whether you’ve been in church for years, haven’t been in a long time, or are simply curious, we would be honored to welcome you to join us as we remember the cross and celebrate the empty tomb. Our doors and our hearts are open to you.”

The event is free and open to the public. Street parking is available, and the chapel includes a quiet area for families with small children.

And don't forget Easter services at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on April 5th.
