Military Appreciation Weekend at Mellano Farm Stand’s Marigold & Pumpkin Festival

St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church

<a href="https://stmarystars.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church</a> is hosting its Fourth Annual Fall Festival Sunday, October 4 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will be held on church grounds at 609 Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside. The event’s theme is “One Star, One Faith, 99 Years of Grace.”&nbsp;

The family focused event is open to the public. The festival will include carnival games, opportunity gift baskets, a display of low rider classic cars, a blessing of the animals (pets welcome) and up to 20 vendor booths selling food and work by local artisans. Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment at the event stage featuring local music and dance groups.&nbsp;

The church is also asking for a donation of $20 per ticket for a chance to win a variety of cash prizes including a grand prize of $5,000. Winners do not need to be present to win.&nbsp;

“We are expecting this to be our biggest fest yet with more than 2,000 attendees, “ says Parish Priest, Father Reynald Evangelista, “The festival allows us to connect with parishioners and the community while sharing our love of Christ,” he says. “It’s a time to create special memories for young and old alike. We’re also hoping to raise funds to pay for much needed repairs to our historic church.”&nbsp;

The parish is currently in the middle of a capital improvement campaign with a goal to raise $1.3M by next year in preparation for the church’s Centennial celebration in 2027.&nbsp;

About St. Mary, Star of the Sea Parish&nbsp;

Serving the faithful since 1927, the historic, landmark church is located at 609 Pier View Way in Oceanside. With its beautiful stained glass windows, dark wooden beams, and Spanish architecture, it is a designated California historic site. St. Mary’s has more than 1,200 parishioners and offers a Catholic education for students K - 8th grade at its school located at 515 Wisconsin Ave. The parish also features an award-winning preschool for children ages 3-Pre-K.
