Coaster Rail Service Suspended Next Weekend From Oceanside To San Diego

Officials advised residents along the corridor to remain alert and only cross the rail line at designated rail crossings.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Coastal rail service between Oceanside and San Diego will be suspended next weekend for routine railroad maintenance and major infrastructure work, officials announced.

The closure will take place Saturday, March 7 through Sunday, March 8, with regularly scheduled service to resume Monday, March 9, according to North County Transit District.

"Weekend closures occur periodically throughout the year on a pre-determined schedule to provide construction crews the opportunity to work safely on and along the rail line to complete preventative maintenance improvements and advance major railroad construction projects," the district said in a statement.
