1 Dead In Deputy-Involved Shooting In Vista: UPDATE
A documented gang member wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was fatally shot by deputies Wednesday.

VISTA, CA – A documented gang member wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was fatally shot by a deputy Wednesday at the end of a foot chase through a residential North County neighborhood, authorities reported.
Patrol personnel and members of a gang-enforcement team spotted the 24- year-old suspect riding in a green Buick on North Melrose Drive in Vista about 10:15 a.m., sheriff's spokesman Ryan Keim told reporters.

Before deputies could conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the car pulled over and the suspect got out and ran away, Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.
The suspect fled for several blocks to the east, climbing over fences and running through private yards before a deputy caught up with him behind a home in the 200 block of Knoll Road.

During an ensuing confrontation, the deputy fired multiple rounds at the suspect. The man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene of the shooting.
No other injuries were reported.
It was not immediately clear if the suspect had been armed, the lieutenant told reporters.

VISTA, CA – A deputy-involved shooting is under investigation Wednesday in Vista, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The shooting is near the 300 block of North Melrose Drive. As of 10:51 a.m., there are no outstanding suspects, according to officials.
Officials asked the public to avoid the areas of North Melrose Drive, Copper Drive which turns to Knoll Road, Ferrara Way and Plymouth Drive.
