AUDITIONS: You Can't Take It With You

Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) announces auditions for its upcoming production of the comedy YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. Artistic Director, Christopher Williams, will conduct auditions at The Brooks, located at 217 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. OTC seeks a talented ensemble to fill all roles:

Penelope Sycamore, Essie Carmichael, Rheba, Paul Sycamore, Mr. De Pinna, Ed Carmichael, Donald Marvin Vanderhof, Wilbur C. Henderson, Tony Kirby, Boris Kolnkhov, Gay Wellington, Anthony P. Kirby, Miriam Kirby, G-Man 1, G-Man 2 (Jim), G-Man 3 (Mac), and The Grand Duchess Olga Katrina.

All are welcome to audition for these volunteer roles. All OTC actors, staff, and production team are currently volunteers.

AUDITIONS: FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 6-9pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS - current resume; current headshot; two contrasting monologues, not to exceed three minutes in total length

CALLBACKS by invitation only: SATURDAY, AUGUST 4 12-5pm Sides will be available.  

REHEARSALS: OCTOBER 2-NOVEMBER 13 (depending on cast availability) Weeknights 6-10pm Weekends 10am-3pm

PREVIEW: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14

PERFORMANCES: NOVEMBER 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24, 25

OTC also seeks VOLUNTEER CREW MEMBERS for this production. Submit your technical theatre resume for consideration by attaching it in a message to info@oceansidetheatre.org.

OTC's mission is to create professional-quality theatre for a vibrant and diverse population. OTC will strive to reach a wide audience base and encourage and improve artistic growth in the community by producing a broad repertoire of theatre, giving local theatre artists creative opportunities and offering educational theatre and outreach programs.

Since its residency began at The Brooks in November, 2011, OTC has produced Tom Mula's JACOB MARLEY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL; the Tony-Award Winning BILOXI BLUES by Neal Simon; and Clark Gesner's musical YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz.
