
The art of tattooing has been practiced for centuries as a way to express identity, faith, heritage and status. OMA celebrates this ever-evolving art form and how it has informed popular culture in its fourth presentation of the increasingly popular Masterworks of Body Art. Guests will enjoy a live tattoo runway show, a tattoo demonstration, live art performances and music, along with complimentary appetizers and an open beer and wine bar. Tickets including guaranteed seating for the runway show are $25 for OMA members and $35 for nonmembers. General tickets are $20 for OMA members and $30 for nonmembers. This year’s event highlights local artists specializing in quality custom work in a variety of styles including traditional American, Japanese and modern classic. Over 20 models will feature the work of artists such as Rob Benavides of Flying Panther, Fip Buchanan of Avalon Tattoo II, Milton Cardenas of Tattoo Royale, Dominick Gonzalez of 1st Amendment, Bill Canales of Full Circle and Kahlil Rintye of Ed Hardy’s Tattoo City among others. Each model is hand-selected based on the quality and design of their art, giving guests a rare opportunity to view amazing artwork by local talent in an intimate setting. After the runway show, models mingle and interact with the crowd giving guests the opportunity to view the artwork of world-renowned Southern California tattoo artists at close range.
