Evacuation Order for Chaparral Fire Near San Diego County Line

OCEANSIDE, CA — An evacuation order has been issued for the Chaparral Fire that has burned over 1200 acres with 0% contained in the Cleveland National Forest as 0f 9:10 pm on August 28, 2021.

The fire was initially reported as being on Camp Pendleton but fire crews from CalFire San Diego determined the location was along Cold Springs Road, northwest of De Luz near the County line.

CalFire San Diego is assisting @ClevelandNF and @CALFIRERRU with the brush fire. An evacuation order has been issued. An evacuation order means that persons in the affected area need to evacuate to a safe location to ensure their safety. All residents can evacuate to Murrieta Valley High School via the Tenaja Truck Trail to Temecula. If you need emergency assistance in evacuation, call 9-1-1.
