Fire Prompts Temporary Evacuation At Oceanside Senior Living Facility
Officials said there was no structural damage, though some areas sustained smoke impact and minor water damage from the sprinkler system.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Residents of an Oceanside senior living facility were temporarily evacuated when a commercial dryer caught fire Monday night, authorities said.
Crews responded shortly before 10:30 p.m. to a report of a fire in the laundry area of Pacifica Senior Living Oceanside at 5520 Avenida Pacifica Way, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
The facility's automatic fire sprinkler system helped control the flames until firefighters deployed a hose line and contained the fire to the dryer, fire officials said.

About 20 residents in the memory care unit were temporarily evacuated to an outdoor courtyard and later moved to a lobby area while crews ventilated the building and cleared it for re-entry.
Officials said there was no structural damage, though some areas sustained smoke impact and minor water damage from the sprinkler system. There were no injuries.
