Free Party in Temecula for Military Families

The Temecula children’s museum is set to host the “Night Catch Party” from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The event is open only to military families affected by an upcoming deployment, said Pat Comerchero, the head of the museum.

The event is modeled after the book Night Catch by Brenda Ehrmantraut.

It tells the story of a soldier and his young son who feel connected by watching the sky as Polaris disappears in the daylight and then pretending to throw the star to each other.

The event will include a reading, astronomy activities, face painting, free photos and other surprises, Comerchero said.
