Get Out: A Weekend of Fundraising Events and Entertainment

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

Is everyone gearing up for back to school? There’s clothes-shopping, lunch-packing, uniform-buying and supply-stocking to be done before your child’s first day back. Patch encourages you to take a break from the errand-running and slow down this weekend with some art and entertainment.

This weekend, from Aug. 26-28, local best bets include concerts, both for pure entertainment and fundraising, free electronic waste removal, a film screening at an old ranch, a fashion show and art viewing. If you’re ready to get out of town, San Juan Capistrano has a hilarious play in town, Dana Point has some free fishing tips for your kids and La Jolla has the horse races and a concert afterward.

Whatever you do this weekend, take a breather. You deserve it.
