Get Out: Comic-Con, Boxing, Del Mar Racetrack, Downhill Speed Skating, 'Warriors' Movie

Your Camp Pendleton Patch guide to weekend happiness.

It’s the biggest weekend of the year in San Diego. Comic-Con has arrived and many will flock to America’s Finest City to pay homage to their favorite superheroes and celebrities. You, too, can join in the comic celebration, but we understand if you want to avoid the crowds and stay a little closer to home.

Camp Pendleton and Oceanside have plenty to keep you busy from July 22-24. Stick around on Friday evening for a sneak peek at an upcoming movie and meet the stars of the show. You can head down to a steep hill in Oceanside on Saturday and Sunday and watch in awe as some skaters take on each other in a speed competition. Carlsbad has an all-day beer fest for the easygoing and an all-day race for the active.

You can venture out a little farther for the superhero spectacle downtown or travel to Encinitas for some family yoga. La Jolla has a swimming experience that will make you face your fears.
