Homicide Investigation Underway After 2 Found Injured, 1 Fatally, In Fallbrook Home

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where one was later pronounced dead. The second person is expected to survive, officials said.

FALLBROOK, CA — Authorities found two injured people inside a Fallbrook home Sunday night, one of whom later died, officials said Monday.

Deputies responding around 8:05 p.m. to an incomplete 911 call found two people with traumatic injuries inside the residence in the 300 block of Woodcrest Lane, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where one was later pronounced dead. The second person is expected to survive, officials said.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The sheriff's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation because of the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

There is no known threat to the community, officials said.
