Homicide Investigation Underway In Oceanside

Oceanside Police are investigating a homicide that happened Monday night.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Oceanside police are investigating a homicide after responding to a radio call of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound on Monday night.

According to a news release, officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to a radio call on June 7, at approximately 10:41 p.m, of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of Higgins Street in Oceanside.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 25 year old Hispanic male laying in the street. Paramedics from the Oceanside Fire Department also arrived on scene and began rendering medical aid. The man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Crimes of Violence unit responded to the scene to take over this investigation. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and no further details are being released at this time. The man’s identity is being withheld until his next of kin can be contacted.
