I'll Always Remember

Interesting and telling that all you have to do is say 9/11 and everyone knows what you’re talking about. I remember that day as if it happened just yesterday.

I remember driving in stunned silence as the report came on the radio of the first plane hitting the towers, then calling my wife to tell her what was happening.

I remember sitting in the conference room at work, my heart breaking as I watched the events with my co-workers, weeping openly as we watched the twin towers crumble to the ground.

I remember the anger and fury I felt as the attacks continued with the Pentagon and the airliner that went down in Pennsylvania.

I remember being uplifted by the image of the US flag being raised by the firefighters at ground zero that very day.

I remember the pride and camaraderie I felt as my daughter Caitlin and I joined thousands at Qualcomm stadium to create the human flag, telling the world that we are strong, we are free, we will come back and never back down.

But above all else…I remember and will never forget the many, many innocent lives that were taken that day.
