Here are the top stories in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton today:

  1. That stubborn rain just won't go away! For all of you sun-worshippers, it looks like it could be until late next week before Oceanside finally gets back to our usual sunny spring days. Until then, get ready for a new storm to hit later today. The heaviest rain is forecast for tonight through early tomorrow morning, with up to an inch of rain possible. Oceanside should dry out later in the week, but more rain is forecast for next week, according to the National Weather Service. Be careful on those wet roadways! (Patch)
  2. IRONMAN 70.3 returns to Oceanside on April 1, and the lineup of athletes includes some of the biggest names in the sport. Jackson Laundry is back to defend his first-place win at last year's triathlon against a competitive field of IRONMAN champions from around the world. In the women's competition, Brit Holly Lawrence and Canadian Paula Findlay are hoping their knowledge of the course from previous wins in Oceanside will give them an edge. (TRI247)
  3. Happy Pi Day, Oceanside! In case you're still blocking out your high school math classes, pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, or approximately 3.14159. But why is that cause to celebrate, you ask? Pi Day is also commemorated by many San Diego-area pizzerias and pie shops with $3.14 specials. Here in Oceanside, you can score $3.14 off a pizza at Mountain Mike's. Check out the full list of other Pi Day deals. (Patch)
