IRONMAN 70.3 Returns To Oceanside This Saturday
Athletes from around the world will travel to Oceanside this weekend for the IRONMAN 70.3 Swim, Bike, Run competition.
OCEANSIDE, CA — IRONMAN 70.3 is coming to Oceanside this weekend and bringing athletes from around the world for the 20th year of competition.
The grueling course consists of a 1.2-mile swim in the Pacific Ocean, 56-mile bike loop through Camp Pendleton, and 13.1 mile run along the coast in Oceanside.
The swim will begin Saturday on the Harbor beach out to the first red buoy then turn north into the harbor and exit out of the water at the boat launch.

The bike route starts from Oceanside Harbor thru Camp Pendleton & San Onofre Bluffs State Park that includes rolling hills prior to San Mateo Hill, a steep descent then the flat but very windy road back to the Harbor.
The two-loop, 13.1-mile run course begins north of the Oceanside Pier, down onto the Harbor, on The Strand and through coastal neighborhoods before circling back to a finish just south of the Pier that will be filled with cheering fans.

Athletes that successfully complete the race will be eligible for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship slots. View IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside Course Maps and other information.
On Friday evening before the IRONMAN competition is the IRONKIDS Oceanside Fun Run:
- Date: Friday, October 29th
- Time: 5:00pm
- Location: Oceanside Pier; 200 N The StrandAges 1-17
- Distances: 1/2 mile, one mile & a toddler dot trot (80ft)
