- Excitement is building in downtown Oceanside as thousands of IRONMAN 70.3 triathletes arrive to compete in the world-class competition. On Friday most of the action was happening in the IRONMAN Village with competitors, fans and locals lining up to sample free non-alcoholic beer at the Athletic Brewing booth. - The San Diego Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for all adult dogs through April 3. According to the SDHS, there is currently a large number of dogs available for adoption at the organization's campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside and San Diego. San Diego Humane Society is open for walk-in adoptions Tuesday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m (Oceanside-Camp Pendleton Patch)
- An unprecedented spike in arrivals of migrants could come to the southern border if the Biden administration lifts a pandemic-era policy that allows border authorities to quickly remove migrants. Migrants have been expelled more than 1.7 million times from the United States under the March 2020 policy known as Title 42. The policy allows authorities to turn back asylum seekers on grounds of protecting the country against the coronavirus pandemic. (San Diego Patch)

- At Camp Pendleton, U.S. Marines with 3d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, executed a battalion field exercise (FEX) on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and Fort Hunter Liggett in March.
