KOCT Preps Oceanside High School Students For Broadcasting
Oceanside and El Camino high school students are preparing to broadcast their own Oceanside Spectrum show on KOCT next Tuesday, April 11th.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Lights, Camera, Action! That's what students from Oceanside and El Camino high school are learning to do with the help of KOCT, the Oceanside Channel.
Following a tradition over the last 20 years, KOCT invites students to come and shadow the KOCT crew, in order to learn how to interview and use the broadcasting equipment in preparation to do their own Oceanside Spectrum show.
First up for their training session was El Camino High School led by Sharon Strong, who is the Broadcast Journalism, TV, Film and Digital Media Teacher at El Camino.

For their training session, the students were able to watch CJ interview several guests to help prepare for their own turn at hosting an episode of the popular Oceanside Spectrum program. While other students watched and learned from the film crew how to operate the cameras and sound equipment.
After all the preparation the students will finally get their chance to Ready, Set, Action on Tuesday, April 11th. Tune into KOCT to watch the upcoming episode or to watch previous episodes of Oceanside Spectrum.
