The Last Wave of the Day: Oceanside Photo Of The Day

OCEANSIDE, CA — Patch reader Belinda Danielson captured this photo in Oceanside of the “The Last Wave of the Day” sculpture after it was reinstalled.

"I was interested as a fairly new resident (6 mos now!), to see this sculpture appear in a spot I had not seen on my many downtown walks to the pier. Steven Rieman was the sculptor & the city commissioned the work and it was installed in 2004. After years of skateboarding damage, it was removed for renovation and reinstalled at the end of 2022. Sadly the artist passed away just last March. So happy to see it back & know the story!"
