Man Arrested After Chainsaw Assault In North County

RAINBOW, CA — A man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted someone with a chainsaw during a dispute in North County, authorities said.

The assault occurred in Rainbow, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Gregory Texeira, 66, voluntarily surrendered to detectives Monday at the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation. Investigators said Texeira was cooperative and provided a statement and potential evidence in the case.

He was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and mayhem, authorities said.
