Man Fatally Struck By Coaster Train In North County

The deadly collision happened north of the Carlsbad Village Coaster Station near the Coast Highway Bridge, authorities said.

CARLSBAD, CA — A man was fatally struck by a train Tuesday in San Diego's North County, authorities said.

The deadly collision happened at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday north of the Carlsbad Village Coaster Station near the Coast Highway Bridge in Carlsbad, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The man was hit by a northbound North County Transit District Coaster train, Sgt. Jason King said. Carlsbad police and fire arrived at the scene and found the man who did not survive his injuries.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the man and determine the cause of his death, King said.
