Man Found Dead At Oceanside Construction Site: UPDATE

BREAKING: The body was found Thursday morning near a home under construction along Windward Way near North Pacific Street in Oceanside.

OCEANSIDE, CA – A 37-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances Thursday at a construction site in Oceanside, according to police.

Oceanside police dispatch received a 911 call at about 5 a.m. to respond to a medical aid call in the 200 block of Windward Way, where a house was under construction, according to Lt. Aaron Doyle.

"When first responders arrived on scene, they discovered a male victim who had sustained obvious signs of traumatic injury," Doyle said. "The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The exact causes of the injuries were unknown, pending an autopsy by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office, according to Doyle.

"Based on the circumstances of this case it is being investigated as a homicide," Doyle said.

The victim was described as a 37-year-old white man who was not an Oceanside resident. His identity will be released once his family is notified. It was not believed to be gang related, according to Doyle.
