📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

Here are the top stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:

  1. The latest storm that passed through our region resulted in widespread flooding that caused multiple road closures, including a large section of SR78 in Oceanside on Monday. High winds toppled trees, which in turn knocked out power lines throughout our region. This last of nine powerful storms that swept through the state should be gone by this afternoon, with only a few scattered showers this morning. The rain totals are still climbing but as of last night, most North County coastal areas had accumulated over 3 inches of rain, with places like Palomar Mountain racking up over 11 inches since the weekend. (FOX 5 San Diego)
  2. Break out your beads, because Mardi Gras Oceanside kicks off this Thursday at the Sunset Market, with Zydeco music by the Bayou Brothers Band. The first-ever O'side Mardi Gras celebration is jam-packed with festive events at participating venues that will pay homage to the Mardi Gras and Carnival cultures. O'side Mardi Gras will culminate with multiple Fat Tuesday celebrations on February 21, peppered throughout the city. (Visit Oceanside)
  3. If you recently attempted to take the train north to Orange County then you likely had to ride the "bus bridge.". The detour service between Oceanside and Irvine has been provided by Amtrak since repairs to the tracks in San Clemente began last fall, and is likely to continue through February. The wet weather has not only added to the delays by disrupting work crews but it's made the problem worse, with increased erosion from the floodwaters and massive waves. "Transportation officials recommend travelers plan ahead for any delays." (KPBS)
