Marine Accused Of Stealing, Selling Missile System From Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, CA — A Marine formerly stationed at Camp Pendleton is accused of stealing weapons from the base and selling them in Arizona, according to multiple reports.
Cpl. Andrew Paul Amarillas, a 23-year-old Arizona native, was working as an ammunition technician specialist at the School of Infantry West at Camp Pendleton when he had access to military explosives and ammunition.
Amarillas was accused of stealing a Javelin missile system and cans of ammunition that he sold to two individuals in Arizona referred to as co-conspirators, AZ Family reported.

Amarillas was arrested on March 5 in Virginia and transported to Arizona after a court appearance, according to 10News.
He pleaded not guilty on March 26 in a Phoenix federal courthouse to charges that included conspiracy to commit theft and embezzlement of government property and possession and sale of stolen ammunition, the Los Angeles Times reported.
