Marine Death Investigated as Suicide

Criminal investigators are treating Monday's death as a suicide, the North County Times reports.

A Marine was found dead Monday at Camp Pendleton.

The death at the U.S. Marine Corps base near Oceanside was reported about 9 a.m., according to Capt. Barry Edwards.

The death is being investigated as a suicide, the North County Times reports.

Details about the death, including the Marine's name, gender, age and hometown, were not immediately available, Edwards said. 

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service was the lead agency on the case, Edwards said.
