Missing At-Risk Oceanside 73 Yr Old Man With Alzheimers - FOUND
OPD Advisory: Missing at risk, 73-year-old Hispanic male, Edgar Cruz. UPDATE: Missing Person Located on 9/1 on a city bus in Los Angeles.

OCEANSIDE, CA — UPDATE: Missing Person Located
On 09/01/2021, LAPD contacted OPD to inform us that they had located missing-at-risk Edgar Cruz. Cruz was on a city bus in Los Angeles and the bus driver noticed he appeared to be disoriented. The bus driver called LAPD and they took Cruz into protective custody. Cruz will be transported back home to Oceanside to be with his wife.

The Oceanside Police Department has issued an advisory alert for a Missing at risk, 73 year old Hispanic male. Edgar Cruz has salt-pepper hair and was last seen wearing blue baseball cap, long blue sweater, blue jeans.
On 8-31-21 at approximately 1130 hours, Edgar Cruz left his residence at 3200 Mission Cove Way on foot. He is currently not in possession of necessary medication and has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. He is described as a 73 year old Hispanic male, 5’09” 160 pounds with salt/pepper hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing a blue long sleeve zip up sweater, blue jeans, dark grey/blue baseball hat, uses glasses and had a black or white mask. He has a bus pass and currency with him. He utilizes the train station in Encinitas and Oceanside, frequents the San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside, beaches and libraries in Encinitas, Carlsbad, and San Marcos.
